When Yeshua says it's more blessed to give than to receive, what does He mean?
He might be talking about boomerang prayers.
Only these boomerangs amplify the original sending motion and get received back many fold.
Jerusalem. Psalm 122:6 says that if we pray for the shalom of Jerusalem; for anything we think Jerusalem could have broken or missing, we will have shalom in our palaces. Roughly said, pray your need unto Jerusalem and watch it come back to you for ever-so-sure.
I have seven daily requests for Jerusalem when I pray more specifically than just for the shalom of Jerusalem (that's so much more than just "peace," I just hate the English translations. They cheat us out of so many blessings. Sigh).
I pray for the protection and safety of Jerusalem, so that my family is kept safe and sound. Then, I pray for its judicial system and its courts so that our own family is given favor. I pray its Arab and Jewish communities get along (I'll write on why Arabs are not Jews' enemies in history) so we all get along. I pray for the ekklesia of Christians line up with the Messianics and find their roots so my own children remember their inheritance in us.
I pray for Jerusalem to prosper so our finances are blessed.
I pray for end-time events to unfold as prophecy calls for the golden city so that the prophecies we have been given for our family come to pass. I intercede for Messiah's return so that we are kept hot and not lukewarm in the faith.
There's nothing G-d loves more than for us to pray for others who are "ahead" of us in His affections.
When we do so? He boomerangs the prayers right back and blesses us with what we prayed for them.
"For thus said the Lord of hosts, after his glory sent me to the nations who plundered you, for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye." Zechariah 2:8
