Saturday in Hebrew

February 19, 2023.

Until recently, there were no Hebrew words for the days of the week but one. Sabbath means Saturday. All other days were derived from there: “two days after Shabbat we will go to school” meant academics on Monday. “Three days before Shabbat we will go shopping” is “mall on Wednesday." So, when G-d said on Mount Sinai to Moses to keep the sabbath? He meant Saturday. You can have a church service any day of the week but rest and communion start Friday sundown for 25 hours.
